Suggestion/Annoyance - Set how much a Resource gets split/Lock value/List if more needed

This has been one of my biggest annoyances thus far with Modeler.

Here is a real setup I have going: Note the upper left corner.

This setup requires 2,640 Sulfur.

Now I could drag out from the merger and get that I need 2.2 if I set pure node max overclock with mk3. But I prefer the way I have listed as I can mix 2 pure nodes, with 1 Impure. It helps me personally keep track of the total nodes I am using. (2 of the 5 total pure, and 1 of the 6 total impure)

As shown, I also like to min/max stuff so I am wanting the full 300 from the Impure, though I only need 204 for this setup, meaning 96 goes elsewhere.

However no matter how I set this up unless I have it listed as going into a depot or another machine, it always only splits it 150/150 even with the splitter nodes, this further skews all the numbers everywhere else.

Note how the numbers for everything else are now effed because this is insisting 150 gets added to the setup instead of 209 it needs.

The only way this properly calculates is if I first place a depot down, tell it directly how much goes in, a.k.a I have to math this out instead of this tool doing it for me… and THEN hook it up.

Then it properly lists 204 and puts everything else as it should be. This or place a random machine and again have to tell it I want 96 to go this way, instead of it you know, calculating these numbers for me. (something very handy for bigger numbers)

The priority splitters or other options do nothing for this. Or if they do I sure have not found away as with them it only sticks all of the resources down one side and 0 on the other… so again you have to personally figure out the values here. Even adding a Sink it still either splits it evenly or well.

Anything else still forces 0. I can not change the value on the sink, or anything else attached to this splitter. Only options is to clear, add waypoint, or align. Nothing to tell it to even split the values.

So for one it would be nice to have some way to allow a LEFT OVER amount of a resource if what we have is more then what we need. Maybe in green text 204 / 96 with 96 in green sense I want the full 300 from that node. Hover over could even say its extra. This way we don’t need to hook up anything extra to try and split off the amount. This could be a toggle on the machines/miners/etc if we want this machine to allow extra to come from it so that extra can go elsewhere.

Two, as stated I would love it if we could LOCK values. The uranium I have listed in the screen shot? Id like to LOCK THAT VALUE along with well, everything else so nothing else that I may add can mess with it, or anything else that I already set up. This way all of the values don’t start getting screwed due to adding another resource to the chain or have resources coming in from another outpost that may have a value that don’t add up to the amount needed. If I don’t want everything else to change to accommodate what is coming in (like the sulfur only adding 150)

Three, then you can include the same but maybe red text, meaning for the setup you got going you need an extra of this much of this item to make this valid. This also plays with the above, to show how much more of this resource is needed to make this setup valid. Only actually have 150 coming in? Well you need 54 more to support the current setup.

This way you could hook up setups between different existing factory’s and it can say “you need X more of this item”.
